Sean Furey is a rural water engineer, hydrologist, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London, with 25 years of experience in the water sector. Since 2011, he has worked at Skat Foundation, in St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he serves as Director of the Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN) secretariat and manages a portfolio of knowledge brokering projects and partnerships that bridge gaps between research, practice, and policy in rural WASH and rural water service professionalization across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He sees tackling handpump corrosion as a tangible and achievable contribution to RWSN’s mission to improve the quality of rural water supply services and their management.
