Sebastian Geschwind is a Social Protection Specialist in the Social Protection & Jobs Global Practice at the World Bank, where he focuses on leveraging data and technology to enhance adaptive social protection delivery systems. In his current role, Sebastian engages in policy dialogue and provides technical assistance on dynamic social registries across the West Africa region, translating conceptual and analytical findings into actionable solutions for clients. Prior to joining the World Bank, Sebastian worked as a consultant for GiveDirectly’s innovation unit, served as an advisor to Togo’s Minister of Digital Economy and Transformation and led cross-functional digital innovation projects at GIZ. He also served as a policy advisor to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in the field of digital development. Sebastian holds a master’s degree in international development from Sciences Po Paris and a master’s degree in political science from Freie Universität Berlin.
