Sergio Campillo Diaz, a Mexican national, is a Consultant at the Finance and Markets Global Practice of the World Bank Group. His responsibilities include monitoring financial sector developments in the Southeast Asia region and financial inclusion in ASEAN countries. He recently collaborated on Malaysia’s Economic Monitor (December 2015) and on the Country Policy and Institutional Assessment of Lao PDR.
Before joining the World Bank, Mr. Campillo worked for 15 years at several Mexican government agencies such as the leading agricultural bank (Financiera Nacional de Desarrollo), Ministry of Finance and Bank of Mexico. Mr. Campillo has significant experience on development banks, financial inclusion, banking sector, and SME financing.
Mr. Campillo holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with honors at ITAM in Mexico.
