Sergio Kurlat is a consultant economist with the Development Prospects Group. He is a co-author of the January 2015 issue of the Global Economic Prospects, which addresses fiscal policy challenges in Emerging Markets. He has also co-authored previous World Bank flagship publications, including the Global Development Finance 2009 and the Global Development Horizons 2011. Within DECPG, Sergio has worked in the formulation of long-term scenarios and the analysis of macroeconomic risks and international finance issues. Before he joined the Prospects Group, Sergio was at the Macroeconomics and Growth team, where he published papers on the relationship between political conditions and economic growth. Sergio graduated cum laude in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires. He holds a Master in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Duke University.
