Mr. Shakeel Qadir Khan belongs to the prestigious Pakistan Administrative Services. He is currently leading Planning and Development and Law and Order Departments of FATA Secretariat as Administrative Secretary. He is also the Coordinator of the Emergency Operations Center for Polio in FATA.
Mr. Khan has been extensive experience of heading government departments and institutions during critical times of natural disasters, militancy and conflicts.
In addition to overall supervision of the political administration and civil law enforcing agencies in FATA, he is looking after Polio Eradication Initiative in FATA. He also oversees the repatriation and rehabilitation of Temporary Displaced Persons of North Waziristan and Khyber Agency. He led the process of rehabilitation and reintegration of SWAT IDPs back in 2009 as a Director General of Provincial Disaster Management Authority-Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Settlement Authority (DG PDMA-PARRSA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the same tenure he led the recovery, mitigation and rehabilitation of 2010 flood affectees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Besides current contributions in the development of FATA, he worked as a Secretary Planning and Development Department, Balochistan and as Chief Economist of KP. He also served as a Political Agent of Bajaur Agency, FATA and successfully led the rescue and relief operations as District Coordination Officer Mansehra in the aftermath of the 2005 earthquake.
Mr. Khan has represented Pakistan at international forums on various occasions. He is working in close coordination with international donors and UN agencies for planning, designing and implementation of key development and humanitarian projects. He is highly regarded for his efficient management and cooperative and solution oriented approach.
He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He also completed civil services mandatory training from civil service academy Lahore.
