Sharad Tandon is a Senior Economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice. Sharad joined the World Bank in 2017 and has been working on poverty-related issues in Egypt, Yemen, and the broader Middle East and North Africa region. Previously, Sharad worked as a Research Economist with the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, where he primarily focused on the measurement of food and nutrition security in South Asia and its determinants. His current research interests include the broad consequences and causes of conflict and the intra-household distribution of resources. Mr. Tandon holds an A.B. in Economics from Cornell University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
