Sharmila Devadas is a senior economist in the Monetary Policy Department of the Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia). She was a research fellow in the Macroeconomics and Growth team of the World Bank’s Development Research Group hub in Kuala Lumpur until May 2020. Her current research interests include macro-financial linkages, public capital and growth, and the relationship between migration and productivity. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
