Sharon Zacharia is a consultant to the Global EdTech team at the World Bank within the Education Global Practice. She supports the team with analytical, technical, research and operational inputs. Her experience lies within international education across India and Africa, where she has worked across policy makers, hundreds of teachers and thousands of students in high-need communities – in the capacity of an education policy analyst, teacher coach, as well as a teacher since 2011. She has supported digital skills in Africa within the Digital Economy For Africa initiative, a $25 billion flagship initiative of the World Bank. She has worked on policy and partnerships at Bridge International Academies, an IFC beneficiary and one of the largest chains of low-cost schools across Africa and Asia. She has supported Stanford University with a higher education research study. She has also worked with Teach For India, a non-profit within education in India and a key member of Teach For All network, as a teacher coach, program manager and teacher. She has a Masters in International Education Policy with a focus on Technology in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelors in Economics from St. Xavier’s College in India.
