Dr. Sherin Varkey is a public health expert and strategist with more than 17 years of experience in health sector reforms, programme leadership and health systems strengthening. After training as a medical doctor, he specialized in preventive medicine and healthcare management and has worked with the public sector, civil society and various international organizations, including the UN. Dr. Varkey has led emergency and development programmes at national and international levels in a variety of FCV, low and middle-income settings. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to significant pieces of research in the areas of Health and Nutrition systems, and delivery science for Immunization, Maternal and Child health, Nutrition and Communicable Diseases. His current interests include scaling up of COVID vaccination, understanding the impact of COVID 19 on health systems and the influence of management practices on the performance of health service providers in FCV contexts.
