Simeao Lopes has been the Fisheries Management Consultant in the World Bank’s Maputo office, Mozambique, since 2018. Simeão is currently supporting the implementation of the SwioFish1-Mozambique program. His professional carrier in fishery sector was focused on socio-economic and anthropologic studies, promotion of fisheries associations, including the community committees forums for fisheries (co)management (CCPs) and implementation of development projects. As social researcher, he focuses on issues of community development and participation; fisheries rights access; fisheries co-management and sustainable use of the fisheries resources. Simeão holds a university degree social science from Eduardo Mondlane University and attended several short course on Planning and Management of fisheries; stakeholders analysis and facilitations, leadership and institutional changes; alternative approaches to fisheries co-management and negotiation skills.
