Sirenia Vazquez is part of the CNBV economic research team, currently studying the historical patterns of savings and credit flows at the municipality level in Mexico. Her research interests also focus on the analysis of firm’s credit patterns and its relationship with the economic cycle, and the impact of financial development on economic growth. She also analyses the main financial and macroeconomic indicators in order to identify risks that might affect the Mexican financial system. Before joining CNBV, Sirenia held numerous positions as a researcher in the public and private sectors, conducting impact evaluation studies on government financing programs and studying the main macroeconomic and financial events that affect equity, fixed income and derivatives markets.
Sirenia holds a B.A. in Economics from CIDE (Mexico), and is an MSc candidate in Risk Management from ITAM (Mexico).
