Smita Das is a Consultant at the World Bank’s Africa Gender Innovation Lab and Program Manager at Innovations for Poverty Action. For nearly 10 years, she has worked on gender and economic empowerment policy in Afghanistan, Indonesia, India, and several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. More recently, she has been coordinating a portfolio of projects examining socio-emotional skills – examining measurement of these skills, rigorously evaluating which skills matter most for economic empowerment, and integrating agile processes into program development.
