Sombath Southivong is a Senior Infrastructure Specialist in the World Bank’s Transport and ICT Global Practice. With experience in transport, disaster risk management, hydropower and mining sector development, he leads the preparation and implementation of lending operations and advisory engagements related to the Lao transport sector. Currently, he is task team leader for the Southeast Asia Regional Economic Corridor and Connectivity, Lao Road Sector, and Lao National Road 13 Improvement projects.
With the World Bank since 2007, Sombath previously worked for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
