Sophia D’Angelo is an Inclusive Education Consultant for the World Bank’s Education Global Practice. She holds a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge’s The REAL Centre (Research in Equitable Access and Learning) and a BA from Princeton University. Her work focuses both on disability-inclusion and broader inclusion, addressing the needs of vulnerable groups including girls, refugees and displaced communities, and ethnic and linguistic minorities. As a former teacher and teacher trainer, Dr D’Angelo is particularly interested in pedagogy and teacher professional development, curriculum design and reform, and educational technology. She is currently based in the Dominican Republic and has spent the past ten years working in both development and humanitarian settings in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia and the Pacific.
