Sophie Egden is a Governance Specialist at the World Bank’s country office in Sydney, Australia where she works on governance, access to justice and regulatory issues in mining and transport. She has worked across the East Asia Pacific region, including four years in the Solomon Islands, first as a volunteer with Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) in Temotu Province and later returning with the World Bank. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and has a Masters degree in International Development from Deakin University. She has previously worked for the New Zealand Government aid agency, the NZ national grid operator and in the mining industry.
