Senior Economist, Water Global Practice, the World Bank

Sophie Trémolet is a Senior Economist in the World Bank Water Global Practice, based in London. Over the last 20 years, she has been working on issues of  financing, institutional and regulatory reforms and private sector participation in the water and sanitation sectors. She has published extensively in the areas of water sector financing, with focus on the role of results-based financing, blended finance and microfinance for sanitation. Prior to joining the World Bank, Sophie ran a consultancy working for a range of sector institutions, including major development banks, bilateral donors, NGOs and Foundations. She holds a Masters in Economics and Business from Sciences-Po (Paris) and a Masters in International Affairs, with a specialization in Economic and Political development from Columbia University  (New  York).
