Stefanie Stantcheva is the Nathaniel Ropes Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University and founder and director of the Social Economics Lab. Her research focuses on the taxation of firms and individuals and how people perceive and form attitudes toward economic issues such as trade, immigration, climate change, and social mobility. She is the recipient of the 2025 John Bates Clark Medal, the 2020 Elaine Bennett Research Prize, and is a Sloan Foundation fellow, Guggenheim fellow, and Andrew Carnegie Fellow.
