Stephanie Vergara has been part of the World Bank’s Education Practice in Colombia since 2018, primarily supporting post-secondary education initiatives with the national government and Bogotá’s district administration. She played a key role in implementing the Colombia Científica program from its launch through its conclusion in 2023, and co-authored its final results report.
In recent years, she has contributed to Human Development projects in African countries including Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Stephanie holds dual degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad Icesi, and earned a Master’s in International Development Policy from Georgetown University. With more than ten years of experience in project management, she has worked with public, private, and multilateral organizations in Colombia and Mexico.
