Subhashini Rajasekaran is an Education Specialist, currently working in the Global Education team in the areas of digital and inclusive education. She leads analytical and operational projects in education and skills development, with a focus on leveraging digital transitions for learning, digital skills, AI, and integrated, inclusive and digitalized HD service delivery for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. She has worked extensively in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Education program and was the ECA EDU focal point on digital in education. Prior to this, she worked for 14 years in India, including at McKinsey & Co. on education reform with public-private partnerships, and with several governmental and nongovernmental organizations in India. Her professional and research interest is in strengthening learner engagement and outcomes, with particular focus on quality of learning environments, teachers, effective use of data and technology, and multilingualism. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from University of Pune, earned a master’s degree in education from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and completed her Post Graduate Program in Management from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India.
