Subika Farazi is a Senior Economist in the Business Ready unit of the World Bank, where she supervises the Business Entry, Financial Services, and Taxation topics. Prior to joining the Business Ready unit, Subika worked at the Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation Global Practice of the World Bank. Subika’s work has covered areas including financial sector analysis and diagnostics, financial deepening, financial inclusion, and firm-level surveys. She has covered these and other topics through publications of articles and reports as well as through participation in numerous country policy engagements, notably contributing to several IMF - World Bank Financial Sector Assessment Programs (FSAPs). She has extensive experience in South Asia and Middle East and North Africa regions. A Pakistani national, Subika holds a PhD in Economics from the George Washington University.
