I am a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Global Education Practice, where I lead and participate in task teams in the areas of education, science, technology and innovation. I have been working at the World Bank for nearly twenty years on the forefront of development policy formulation and implementation. The job of a team leader at the World Bank is to set up and work in cross-functional teams that design projects and perform policy analysis together with partners from government and other agencies. I have worked in projects in 24 countries, with the bulk of my experience from the countries of El Salvador, Nicaragua, Argentina, Brazil, Laos and Vietnam. Since June 2017 I am working on projects in the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Georgia. Currently I have been working on issues related to computational literacy and the teaching of coding to children (we published a book on this topic this past year); extra-curricular education; financial education and financial literacy and higher education policy.
