Suiko Yoshijima is a Senior Environmental Specialist at the World Bank's Bangkok office. She currently manages several pollution management projects in Bangladesh. She has extensive knowledge and experience working on industrial pollution, urban pollution, chemical management, marine pollution and non-hazardous/hazardous waste management, as well as climate change issues. Suiko has various publications including Country Environmental Analysis in Bangladesh, Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production, Air Pollution in Greater Cairo, and Strategic Environmental Assessment.
Previously, Suiko worked in the Middle East and North Africa, East Africa regions before joining South Asia region. Prior to joining the Bank, Suiko worked at Booz Allen Hamilton in Tokyo. She obtained her Masters in Environmental Studies from the University of Tokyo and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School. She completed her Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Tokyo.
