Susan Bartels, MD MPH FRCPC is a Clinician Scientist at Queen’s University in Canada, an Affiliate Expert at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, and Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health. A board-certified emergency physician in Canada and the United States, she served previously as Director of Global Health and International Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bartels is actively involved in global health research, primarily in conflict and disaster-affected areas of the world. Her research aims to improve the science and practice of delivering humanitarian aid, and her current focus is the impact of war on the health of women and children.
