Susanne Scheierling is a Senior Irrigation Water Economist in the World Bank’s Water Global Practice. Her work includes operational and analytical tasks with a focus on the economic aspects of agricultural water management. Before joining the World Bank in 2007, she led agricultural and water-related projects for the Asian Development Bank for seven years. She was also involved in analytical work on water economics and management at Colorado State University (with Robert A. Young), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and as a consultant for the World Bank and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ). She holds a Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from Colorado State University.
