Sutirtha Sinha Roy is currently the poverty economist for Myanmar. Sutirtha’s work focuses on poverty measurement and micro determinants of growth, including labor markets, economic geography, social protection and migration. Sutirtha has led technical assistance programs to improve statistical capacity within survey and census organizations in India. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2017, Sutirtha worked at the Office of the chief economic adviser to the government of India. Sutirtha has a degree in International Economics from the John Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (JHU-SAIS).
