Svetlana Pimkina

Svetlana Pimkina is an economist working at the Gender Innovation Lab, within the World Bank’s Africa Chief Economist Office. Her current research centers on identifying and addressing gender-based constraints in jobs, employment, and private sector development, with a particular focus on youth labor market transition and skills development. Her interests include gender, development, and behavioral economics, as well as designing and implementing novel data collection techniques to answer questions in these fields. Prior to joining the World Bank, Svetlana was a Research Fellow at Harvard and Duke University. She holds a Master’s degree from University of San Francisco.
