Takeaki Sato is a Senior Environmental Specialist at the World Bank’s Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy (ENB) Global Practice in South Asia Region (SAR). He has been providing ESF/safeguard support for preparation and implementation of projects, especially for high risk/complex operations in transport, water, energy, urban, DRM and environment sectors, in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Bhutan. He has been also leading multiple operations in forests/natural resources management in Pakistan and Nepal. Previously, he served as the Country Safeguard Coordinator for Pakistan and worked with Regional Safeguard Advisor (RSA) in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MNA) and SAR. He holds MSc in Natural Resources Planning from School of Natural Resources and Environment in the University of Michigan.
