Tamilwai Johannes Kolowa is an Urban Development Consultant at the World Bank's Global Practice for Urban Resilience and Land (GPURL), in the West and Central Africa Urban Unit in Washington, DC. He works with the urban team on development in growing cities through urban upgrading and transport projects, analytics, and technical assistance. Tamilwai devotes himself to integrating disaster risk management into urban planning and promoting sustainable land use and urban expansion for better functioning cities.
Tamilwai holds an M.A. of International Relations from the Freie Universität Berlin, where he explored the impacts of global housing policies at the municipal level. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2018, he worked at the Berlin Senate Department for the Environment, Transport, and Climate Protection.
