Tamuka Chekero a Zimbabwean national, is a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. His doctoral research, based in Cape Town, interrogates mobility and conviviality among migrants from African countries. Tamuka is presently part of the Africa Fellowship Program of the World Bank, in the Social Development Global Practice. He has been involved with analytical work, including on promoting gender equity, social cohesion and economic inclusion among displaced persons and other vulnerable communities in Uganda, Zimbabwe and Eswatini.
