Tanima Ahmed is an Economist with the World Bank Group's Invest in Childcare Initiative and Gender Group. Before joining these teams, Tanima worked as a consultant with the South Asia Gender Innovation Lab (SAR GIL), Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI), Indonesia Social Sustainability and Inclusion (SSI), and the Enterprise Analysis units of the World Bank. She was also a research fellow at the Institute for Women's Policy Research. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from the American University, Washington DC, USA. Tanima has extensive experience working with international non-governmental organizations and other social development teams. Her work primarily focuses on gender and development, specifically on unpaid work, care (childcare and eldercare), norms, time use, and child development. She also has experience working on broader development issues such as poverty and jobs.
