Tapas Paul is currently lead environment specialist with the World Bank, in the Environment, Natural Resources & Blue Economy Global Practice. He joined the World Bank in 2000, and has worked in several countries in South Asia, East Asia, Latin America, and Central Asia and Eastern Europe regions. He led the World Bank’s work on integrated management of coastal zones in India (2006-14), cleaning of the river Ganga (2009-12), conservation and development of the Sundarbans (2016-19), management of water and natural resources of northeast India (2006-09), fisheries in Maldives (since 2016) and India (since 2018), and forestry in Bangladesh (2016-17).
