Dr Tendesayi Kufa-Chakezha is a Senior Epidemiologist at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases’ Centre for HIV and STIs. In this role she designs and implements relevant surveillance and research activities and mentors staff and students. A medical doctor by training, she holds a Master’s in Public Health (major in Epidemiology) from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Amsterdam. Over the past 16 years, she has held different positions in HIV prevention, care and treatment programmes, academia and research. Her main research interests are in the prevention of HIV, STIs and HIV associated TB and has authored several peer reviewed papers in these areas.
