Tewodros Tassew Kebede is a financial sector consultant at the World Bank with a passion for financial services, technology, and innovation. He has extensive experience in the private, public, and development sectors. At the World Bank, Tewodros has worked across programs, including productive safety nets, Harnessing Innovation for Financial Inclusion (HiFi), CGAP's Women in Rural Agriculture Livelihoods, and Innovations in Financing Women Entrepreneurs.
Prior to joining the Bank, Tewodros worked as a consultant in digital financial services, financial inclusion, and digital economy. He led the establishment of FSD Ethiopia, a financial sector development agency co-funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the UK government. He also supported adoption of digital payments in safety net programs and worked as a director of a financial technology company leading the rollout of mobile money and digital wallet services.
