Thanavat is a Sr. Environmental Engineer with the Climate Change Group of the World Bank, where he works in the Montreal Protocol coordination unit. His current responsibilities include coordination with the Montreal Protocol institutions such as the Multilateral Fund Secretariat and Ozone Secretariat, and providing cross-support to Bank regional teams in implementing MP projects with client countries. He also coordinates the works of Ozone Operation Resource Group (OORG) in providing technical guidance and support to Bank MP operations. Prior to joining the World Bank, Thanavat worked with UNEP as a regional network coordinator for ozone officers in Southeast Asia and Pacific countries. Thanavat holds a PhD in transportation engineering from University of Maryland and a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management science from Northwestern University.
