Gender Equality Advisor, Save the Children UK

Tim Agaba Baroraho is a gender equality advisor at Save the Children UK, focusing on gender equality policy across the organisation’s work. Tim is a Ugandan writer, policy advocate and researcher whose work has centred on human rights law, feminist legal theory, gender equality and criminal justice. Tim’s work has ranged from promoting and protecting the rights of human rights defenders, working with the Justice, Law and Order Sector to uphold human rights in meeting their obligations, as well as examining the link between gender-based violence and rates of incarceration for women in Luzira and Gulu women’s prisons in Uganda; then more broadly, analyzing the criminal justice system from a black feminist lens. Tim has also worked as a gender specialist for Save the Children’s Uganda country office. Tim’s writing has been published at Burning House Press, in ‘An Anthology of East African Literature’ and Ms. magazine.
