Tobias Haque is the World Bank’s Lead Country Economist for Pakistan, with responsibility for coordinating economic, governance, and private sector programs. He has worked for the World Bank for more than a decade, spending time in a range of economist roles, based in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Washington DC, Sydney, and the Pacific islands. Tobias has previously worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in private sector economic consulting, and in the New Zealand public service where he began his career at the New Zealand Treasury. He holds postgraduate qualifications in finance, development economics, and political economy.
