Tom Felix Joehnk is an economist and journalist. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, and trained as an economist at Berlin’s Humboldt University and the London School of Economics. He began his professional career as a macroeconomist in London before moving into journalism. Tom was as reporter for The Economist in South and Southeast Asia for fifteen years and a contributor to opinion pages of The New York Times. He currently works as a consultant for the World Bank with a focus on global public governance and public finance management in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region.
