Tom Shakespeare

Professor of Disability Research, University of East Anglia

Tom Shakespeare is Professor of Disability Research at the University of East Anglia, UK.  Tom trained at Cambridge University, and has worked at several other leading UK universities.  He was formerly a technical officer at the World Health Organisation for five years, where he was a leading contributor to publications including the World Report on Disability (2011) and International Perspectives on Spinal Cord Injury (2014).  His books include Disability Rights and Wrongs (2006) and The Sexual Politics of Disability (1996).   He is chair of the INGO, Light for the World - UK.
