Tonny Muthee joined the World Bank Group in 2020 through the Young Professionals Program. He has since worked as a Health Specialist in the Global Engagement Unit, Europe and Central Asia region, and in East Asia and the Pacific region on a range of analytical and operational programs. His primary areas of focus are non-communicable disease prevention and management in resource limited settings, primary health care strengthening and antimicrobial resistance. Tonny is a clinical nurse and midwife, holds an MSc in Public Health (Oxford Brookes University) and a PhD in Primary Health Care from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and was previously an academic tutor in primary health care at Oxford’s Center for Evidence-based Medicine and the Global Health Department at Stanford University (Oxford Program).
