Toru Konishi, a Japanese national, is a World Bank Senior Water Economist, based in Pakistan since September 2016.
Mr. Konishi joined the World Bank in 1993 as a Young Professional in the Europe and Central Asia Region. Since then, he has served as an economist who has specialized in water resources management in various countries, including Romania, Albania, India, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia and Afghanistan, and has helped in preparation and implementation of water resources’ projects.
He holds a BSc (Eng.) from the University of Tokyo, and MA and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
