Valentina Pernechele is an Economist at the FAO Investment Centre specialized in economic analysis of agrifood policies and public investments. With FAO since 2010, she worked on agricultural public expenditure reviews in many countries across different regions, in particular in Africa and Asia. She has been providing advice and support to governments on the formulation of agricultural strategies, investment plans and policy reform options. She contributed to capacity building and knowledge sharing initiatives on widely recognized policy monitoring tools. Valentina has been collaborating with different IFIs, including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, and other development partners, like IFPRI and OECD, to foster a community of practices on agricultural policy support measurement and to generate data and analysis to shape more effective, equitable and sustainable policy reforms.
