Vanessa Velasco is an Urban Development Specialist at the World Bank. Since joining the Bank in 2015 she has provided operational and analytical support to projects in Colombia, Peru, Mexico, and Jamaica, including work on urban and regional policy, housing policy, land value capture, urban regeneration, Transits Oriented development (TOD), and local economic development.  She has experience of fourteen years in the development and management of urban projects and master plans and has worked as an urban development consultant in international organizations as the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, LH. Also, she has worked as a Technical Manager for the development of urban projects in public and private organizations in Colombia; and as a researcher in studies about land markets and policies and land value capture (LVC) in Spain, Latin America and South Korea. Vanessa is an Architect, Master in Urban Planning, Master in Urban Administration, and Specialist in Land Markets and Policies for Latin-American.
