Vanessa Olakemi Dovonou is a short-term consultant in the Office of the Chief Economist for South Asia at the World Bank. She is currently a final year Ph.D. student in economics at the university of Orleans, France. Her research focuses on international macroeconomics, fiscal, monetary and macroprudential policies. Previously, she was consultant (2021 WBG-Africa Fellow) in the Office of the Chief Economist for Central and West Africa. She worked at the African Region Department of the International Monetary Fund (2020 cohort of the Fund Internship Program) on the impact of fiscal policies on growth in sub-Saharan Africa especially in the CEMAC region. Prior to her Ph.D., Olakemi graduated from the University of Orleans, France with a master in econometrics and applied statistics.
