Verena Schaidreiter is a Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist at the World Bank, working in the Europe & Central Asia Region. She joined the Bank in 2018, and since then has been working on investment operations, advisory services and analytics on water supply and sanitation, water resources management and irrigation. She is currently co-leading the water portfolios in Türkiye and the Kyrgyz Republic. Prior to the Bank, Verena worked as Advisor for Water and Sanitation at the Austrian Development Agency, overseeing the water portfolios in Eastern Africa and the Danube Region. She also worked as a Design Consultant in integrated urban water management with the Inter-American Development Bank in Argentina and as a Water Engineer in rural water supply with a non-profit organization in El Salvador, Central America. Verena holds a M.Sc. in Water Management and Engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria.
