Verónica Trujillo is a Financial Sector Specialist at the Financial Inclusion and Consumer Protection Global Practice, at the World Bank. She focuses on expanding financial inclusion, digital financial services (DFS), and MSME access to finance. She has experience supporting the design and implementation of NFIS, the digitization of G2P payments, and analyzing the enabling policy and regulatory framework for non-banks, agents, MSME financing, and fintech products and providers (e.g., e-money, digital credit, crowdfunding, among others).
Prior to her work with the World Bank, worked as an independent consultant Verónica on various related projects for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and USAID. While working for the Inter- American Development Bank, she was part of the Global Microscope of Financial Inclusion Team and led a project to build a regional database on financial institutions’ sustainability and outreach indicators. Verónica has a Ph.D. from Salamanca University, a master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy, and another in Law and Economics. She holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
