Veronique Kabongo is the World Bank Country Manager for Burundi. She joined the World Bank Group in 2008 and has held several leadership positions in institutional services as well as in operational. She is specialized in Human Resources management, Governance-lead operations and institutional development.
Mrs. Kabongo regularly advises decision-makers in leading and executing complex reforms in the context of sensitive environments, focusing on finding common solutions for multiple stakeholders. Before joining the Bank, she has worked in private and public organizations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. A Belgo-Congolese national, Véronique Kabongo holds a master’s degree in political science and international relations from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from Saint-Louis University of Brussels.
