Virgilio Galdo is a Research Analyst at the South Asia Chief Economist Office. He has contributed to the preparation of major reports on issues related to the rural-rural transformation of the region. Prior to that, he was a team member of the World Development Report 2013: Jobs and worked in the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank. His research interest lies on development issues associated with rural– urban transformation, economic geography and geospatial impact evaluation. His work has been published in the Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Health Economics, Economica, IZA Journal of Labor and Development and Applied Economics Letters. He has a MA degree in economics from Michigan State University and has completed PhD (A.B.D) studies in economics at Syracuse University.
