Wisdom Mkese is a young leader who is passionate about African watershed and integrated water management systems for a better African economy. He is currently studying a degree in Environmental Health at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences. In 2020 and 2021 he worked to mobilize the Malawian communities around Songwe River and Kyungu Streams with the Mwakaboko Intellectuals Development Association (MIDA) in planting trees and reeds to protect the river from flooding which causes adverse effects on people's lives by destroying their crops and introducing infertile soils to their farms, eventually pushing down the economy. Wisdom aims to shed more light on developing policies to guide the management of watersheds and integrated water management for the improvement of Malawi’s economy.
