Wayne Irava is currently Health Specialist with the World Bank based in Honiara, Solomon Islands. He works on several countries including on Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, and other Pacific Island countries. He received his Ph.D. in business finance from Bond University in Australia. Before joining the Bank, Wayne worked as a Technical Officer in Health Financing at the World Health Organization, Division for Pacific Support Office in Fiji. In this role, Wayne provided technical support in strengthening health systems within the Pacific Island countries and areas in the design and implementation of sound financial health systems towards universal health coverage (UHC). Prior to WHO, Wayne worked as an Associate Professor at the Fiji National University engaging in both teaching and in research at the Centre for Health Information, Policy and Systems Research. His research interests include health systems, health financing, and health policies.
