Wei Yan is a Senior Transport Economist with the World Bank, bringing extensive experience across the Eastern and Southern Africa, South Asia, and East Asia and Pacific regions. In her current role in the Eastern and Southern Africa, she leads transport operations, analytics, and policy work spanning roads, airports, ports, and urban transport, with a particular focus on Madagascar, Lesotho, and Mauritius, with the goal of improving connectivity and mobility for communities throughout the region.
She holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, and an MA and BA in Economics from Beijing Jiaotong University.
